Format: 3-round quads, usually with one round on each of the first three Tuesdays in the month. At least some of the sections may run as a Swiss or round robin with more than three rounds and/or four players depending on circumstances (number of players, number of Tuesdays in a month, etc.). By agreement players may schedule their game at another day and/or time if it’s scheduled after the previous Tuesday night and before the following Tuesday night. Time Control: G/90;inc30 (ninety minutes per player with thirty seconds added for each move). Some digital clocks are provided at this tournament but please do not always rely on the club to provide a digital clock (boards, pieces, notation sheets, and pens/pencils are provided).
Schedule: On-site registration runs from 6-6:45pm on the first Tuesday of the month. Rounds begin each Tuesday at 7pm (important note: the Lloyd Center mall is currently closing at 7pm so make sure you arrive before 7pm).

Rated: US Chess regular rated. US Chess membership is required and can be purchased during registration. US Chess membership rates/information/benefits. Rose City Chess is currently offering discounted memberships for any player under age 21 at the time of redemption here.
Prizes: The winner of each quad gets a $10 credit toward any other Tuesday or Wednesday quads held in the next 3 months.

Notes: 1) This tournament uses the rules from the 7th edition of the US Chess rulebook. The pairings may be adjusted to accommodate player availability. 2) While this tournament is open to scholastic players, it’s only recommended for mature scholastic players who are capable of playing in a serious tournament and against adults. 3) State membership is not required. 4) This tournament is not an Oregon Scholastic Chess Federation state qualifier. 5) There are no Tuesday Quads in October due to the Portland Chess Club Championship.
