Game in 60: February 24

Sunday Quads: February 25

Starting in February the time control is changing from G/45;inc15 to G/50;inc15 so each player will get around sixty minutes total for most games. This makes the overall amount of time a player gets for a game very similar to the overall amount of time a player gets for a game at the Game in 60, which has proven very popular. Also note that this month’s edition is a week later than usual.

Portland Spring Open: March 24-25

The format has changed to a 4-round Swiss at G/90;inc30 with rounds at 10am and 2:45pm each day and one half-point bye allowed. This will make the tournament not as grueling, gives players more time for most games, and generally give players more time off in-between the rounds.
