All Portland Chess Club events as well as the major Oregon Chess Federation events and other major open events in the greater Portland area that are currently scheduled are listed here. For the calendar that includes other open events throughout Oregon (or close by), click here. For the calendar that includes other scholastic events throughout Oregon and Washington, which include some events that are run at the Portland Chess Center by other organizations, click here.

In addition to the events listed below, Friday Scholastic Quads, casual chess, and more occur every Friday (No quads, casual chess, and more on December 25. Notes: 1) The schedule is always subject to change. 2) The Tuesday Quads usually start on the first Tuesday each month. No Tuesday Quads in October due to the Club Championship. The November Tuesday Quads start on the second Tuesday to avoid starting on the same day as the presidential election. 3) The Sunday Quads is usually on the third Sunday each month. The February Sunday Quads is on the fourth Sunday to avoid competing with the Oregon Closed. The March Sunday Quads is on the fourth Sunday to avoid being on the same weekend as the Chess for Success Championships. The April Sunday Quads remains on the third Sunday, the same weekend as the Game in 60, to avoid being on the same weekend as the OSCF K-12 School Team Championship and on Easter on the second Sunday. The June Sunday Quads is on the second Sunday to avoid being on Father’s Day. The December Sunday Quads is on the second Sunday to avoid being on the same weekend as the Game in 60. 4) The Game in 60 is usually on the last Saturday each month. The April Game in 60 is on the second to last Saturday to avoid competing with the OSCF State Championship on the last Saturday. The November Game in 60 is on the second to last Saturday to avoid conflicting with the Thanksgiving weekend and the Washington Class Championships. The December Game in 60 is on the second to last Saturday to avoid being on the day after Christmas. 5) The Portland Rapid and Blitz Championships is in June instead of July this year due to there being no good weekends for it in July. 6) The annual Clark Harmon Memorial Open rotates between Oregon and Washington every other year and is in Washington this year. The PCC runs the GM Arthur Dake Memorial Open in the year’s the Harmon Memorial is in Washington. 7) All of the above tournaments are sponsored and run by the Portland Chess Club except this year’s Oregon Closed, Oregon Senior Open, and Oregon Class Championships which are sponsored and run by the Oregon Chess Federation. This year’s Oregon Open is co-sponsored and run with the Oregon Chess Federation.
