For the first time since Bobby Fischer in 1972, an American is playing in the World Chess Championship match. The match is scheduled in London from November 9-28 between reigning World Champion Magnus Carlsen of Norway and challenger Fabiano Caruana of the US. The Portland Chess Club is celebrating this event by holding a series of informal and fun post-game discussions on Mondays November 12, 19, 26, and December 3 from 7-9pm at the club. Selected games from the preceding week will be shown on a large screen TV. Masters and Experts will comment and answer questions about the moves. The event is free and open to everyone.
