Notes: 1) Casual chess occurs every Wednesday except November 25 and December 30 due to the Thanksgiving and winter holidays, respectively. 2) The schedule is always subject to change. 3) The Game in 60 usually takes place on the last Saturday each month. The October and November Game in 60’s are a week earlier to avoid competing with the Oregon and Washington Class Championships, respectively. 4) The Quad 45 and Saturday Blitz usually take place on the third Saturday each month. No Saturday Blitz in July due to the Breckenridge Simul. The November Quad 45 and Saturday Blitz is a week earlier to avoid competing with the Game in 60. 5) The Tuesday Quads usually start on the first Tuesday each month. No Tuesday Quads in October due to the Club Championship. 6) The annual Clark Harmon Memorial Open rotates between Oregon and Washington and is in Oregon this year. 7) All of the above tournaments are sponsored and run by the Portland Chess Club except this year’s Oregon State Championship, Oregon Senior Open, and Oregon Class Championships which are sponsored and run by the Oregon Chess Federation, the Newport June Open which is sponsored and run by H.G. Pitre, Bill Barrese, and the Central Coast Chess Club of Newport, OR., and the Vancouver Open which is sponsored and run by the Washington Chess Federation. This year’s Clark Harmon Memorial Open is co-sponsored by contributors to the Clark Harmon Memorial Open fund, the Oregon Open is co-sponsored and run with the Oregon Chess Federation, and the scholastic side-event is run by the Oregon Scholastic Chess Federation.
